Dear Canoe4Canada
How does exam time affect your training? I find it hard to get in good quality sessions when I'm sleep
lacking and stressed--is it better to skip some practises to avoid the risk of getting sick? Or do you
just keep training ontop of the school work-load? Thanks!
Hey good question, one that we have all encountered along the way. Two key words for you, time
management. When the stress is on, and it is time to hammer through the books and study for exams,
time becomes an extremely valuable commodity. You don't necessarily need to miss too many practices,
but if you are completely worn down it may be hard to be there all the time. Manage your time
accordingly, and leave yourself slots to fill in some quality training. Think of training, whether it is a
run, weights etc. as a good time to refresh your mind and de-stress amidst the chaos of exam period.
Hope that helps! Ultimately, you have to decide how much training you think you can handle during your exams.
