Everyone in the canoeing world is feeling pretty down after hearing about the loss of one of our heroes, Gyorgy Kolonics. We would love to hear you guys say a word or two about him and what he meant to you guys and the sport.

Richard, thanks for your submission. We are a bit late getting to answering this question, but Andrew and Mark especially spoke about Kolonics in their journals at length. He was a true leader in the sport for such a long time, a humble champion, and a great friend to the Canadian canoe and kayak team. He will be missed. It is very sad to see someone like Kolo leave us far too soon.
